Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Moshi – Machame Gate to Machame Camp
After breakfast, you’ll drive to the Machame Gate (1,640 meters), where you’ll complete registration and begin your ascent. The trail winds through lush rainforest, and you may spot Colobus monkeys and other wildlife. After several hours of trekking, you’ll arrive at Machame Camp for your first night on the mountain.

Day 2: Machame Camp – Shira 1
You’ll ascend out of the rainforest and into the moorland zone, where the vegetation becomes sparser, but the views open up. You’ll have stunning vistas of Mount Meru and the Shira Plateau. The hike is shorter but steeper, and you’ll arrive at Shira Camp in the afternoon.

Day 3: Shira 1 – Lawa Tower
This is a critical acclimatization day. You’ll trek up to the Lava Tower at 4,600 meters (15,100 feet) for lunch before descending to Barranco Camp. Although you end the day at a slightly higher elevation than the previous night, this climb high-sleep low strategy helps your body adjust to the altitude.

Day 4: Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp
You’ll start the day by tackling the famous Barranco Wall, a steep but non-technical climb. After conquering the Wall, you’ll trek through the Karanga Valley, where you’ll have great views of Kibo Peak. You’ll reach Karanga Camp in the early afternoon, where you’ll have time to rest and acclimatize.

Day 5: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp
The trail to Barafu Camp is short but steep, with little vegetation. Barafu Camp serves as your base camp, and you’ll have an early dinner and go to bed to rest before your final push to the summit.

Day 6: Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Barafu Camp
Your summit day begins at midnight. You’ll ascend slowly in the dark to Stella Point at the crater rim (5,739 meters), and from there, you’ll trek to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating at the summit, you’ll begin your descent back to Barafu Camp for a short rest, then continue to Mweka Camp.

Day 7: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Moshi
You’ll make your final descent through the rainforest to the Mweka Gate. Upon arrival, you’ll receive your summit certificates and then be transferred back to Moshi for a well-deserved rest.
